Tears of Fire

She cried tears of fire

and found warmth in the sea.

In the night she never tired,

and only with eyes closed,

could she see.

Her heart was made of stars

and her skin made of silk.

She wasn’t afraid to spar

or gift her child milk.

She was the magic of the sky

and wonder of light.

She wasn’t afraid to die

if the battle was a good fight.

Words can only describe

details here and there,

for like a sunbeam

she was less palpable

than air.
